In 1982, Dr. Sheller came to Peoria and opened his practice on Prospect in Peoria Heights, Il. Dr. Kancius opened her office at the same time in the Field Shopping Center in Morton, Il. Both went to Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine (which later became Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine) in Chicago. Both did surgical residencies at Hugar Surgical Center in Elmwood Park, Il. Dr. Sheller is board certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow in the American College of
Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Kancius is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. In 2002 Dr. Jeff Ruskusky joined the practice working part time in both offices. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot Surgeons. in 2003, the practices were incorporated to become Midwest Podiatry Group. Midwest Podiatry Group is on staff at all three area hospitals; OSF St. Francis, Methodist Medical Center and Proctor Hospital. They are also on the staff of OSF Center for Health. Midwest Podiatry Group specializes in all forms of foot and ankle deformities and diseases.
